SUMMARY:2026 Melbourne Deathwalker Training
DESCRIPTION:THIS TRAINING IS NOW FULL. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN BEING ON TH
E WAIT LIST\, PLEASE SEND AMN EMAIL. OFTEN THINGS CHANGE.  ALSO LOOK AT T
HE OTHER TRAININGS IN CASE YOU CAN ATTEND ANOTHER ONE.\n\nThe in-person De
athwalker Trainings with Zenith Virago are a comprehensive and transformat
ive experience. She has taught versions of this Training for over 25 years
\, and has worked as a pioneer in more contemporary and holistic death car
e practices for over 30 years.  This Training includes aspects of death d
oula work\, but is much more comprehensive in its content\, as it also inc
ludes Ceremony creation and delivery.\n\nThe Deathwalker Trainings are hig
hly regarded and have been delivered to people for their personal\, profes
sional or complimentary use\, they are applicable to everyone.  They are
an invaluable body of work to help start you off\, wake you up\, or to enh
ance your already rich personal or professional experience. For many\, the
y are unexpectedly lifechanging.\n\nZenith is an acknowledged\, respected
Elder and pioneer practitioner in the profound work of hands-on end of lif
 e and after-death care.  She has been teaching\, pre-need\, end of life\,
after-death care and powerful ceremony.  She delivers everything with an
embodied openness\, honesty and a candour that allows you to go deeper th
an you thought possible.  Check out her website\, TEDX talk and many vide
 o/audio links.\n\nOur definition of a Deathwalker is:-\n\n a person who w
alks their own journey towards their death as openly\, courageously and as
best they can.\n a person who walks with or accompanies others\, in thei
r death or bereavement journey to encourage and empower them to be as open
\, courageous and the best they can. Offering guidance to encourage and em
power everyone.\n\nZenith is trying to offer the learnings from 30 years o
f experience in to this 3 day non-residential Training. It is nearly every
thing you need to know about death\, dying &amp\; ceremony\, covering soci
al\, legal\, practical\, emotional and many other aspects of the journey.
It is deep\, authentic work and includes\, but is much more than just deat
h doula work. Check out her website and many video links.\n\nThis is an in
tensive\, informative and intimate workshop.  Enabling you to explore you
r relationship to your own death\, affirming what you may intrinsically kn
ow deep down\, caring or working with others\, and preparing you by sharin
g and explaining multiple aspects of the death\, dying\, loss and ceremony
process\, and so much more.\n\nShe brings a wealth of lived experience\,
a hybrid of generosity\, for you to take what you need\, into a new\, rich
er place to do this work personally or professionally.  As a bonus it wil
l help you face your own death with more awareness and grace.  Listen to
your heart\, find the experienced teacher that sings to you and opens you
to a deeper awareness of life\, death\, yourself and humanity.\n\nThis ex
ceptional Training covers the whole spectrum from wellness to bereavement\
, it’s about knowing what your options are\, considering them\, and maki
ng the decisions that are right for you.  It is interactive between parti
cipants and Zenith\, amongst many others things it includes:\n\n Explorin
g and reframing more useful language\n Sustainable self-care in caring or
working with the dying &amp\; bereaved\n Pre-need legal information\, pr
eparation and advocacy\n Transitioning from illness into dying\n Care fo
r the dying and after-death body-care\n Expected and sudden death\n Shro
uding &amp\; Body disposal options\n Understanding Ceremony structure and
content\n Working with trauma through ceremony\n Healthier bereavement
and loss.\n\nCombining a hybrid of ancient and more contemporary ways of b
eing present\, real and beneficial at a challenging time\, appropriate for
everyone – for your own personal journey\, to accompany a family member
or friend\, to increase professional skills or if you feel you have a cal
ling to some or all aspects of this work.\n\nClasses comprise up to 24 peo
ple\, allowing an intimate alchemy to arise\, which encourages personal ex
ploration\, growth and questions to also occur within the collective exper
ience.\n\n*In some locations\, there is basic overnight accommodation so p
lease contact us if you want to explore that option.\n\nOn completion of D
eathwalker Training\, participants receive a Certificate of Attendance.
After careful consideration\, the NDCC chose not to become an RTO\, and no
t to offer accredited Training. Currently it is not possible to describe y
ourself as a Qualified or Certified Deathwalker.  If it was a certifiabl
e course\, it would need to be much longer than 3 days\, and would require
competency tasks and assessments.\n\nWe decided to deliver this body of w
ork\, universal knowledge and practical information for people\, so they c
ould add to or enhance their existing knowledge and experience. Their inhe
rent capacity to do death well.  Rather than create a much longer more co
mplex and expensive course\, we trust each person will take this Training
and allow it to evolve and grow them in the most beneficial way for each p
erson and their communities.\n\nThere is a minimum requirement of 15 peopl
e to go ahead\, and to make the group fire together. If the minimum number
is not reached 1 month out\, the Training will be cancelled.  This has n
ever happened so far.\n\nSee Training section for more detailed content in
 fo.
